It's Official
I am officially crazy. This week I signed up to do a half marathon in April. I have been training for it for 3 weeks now and it has been hard work already. My training program is 24 weeks long, but the race is 26 weeks away. I have allowed myself plenty of time to increase my training runs slowly to try to minimize injury. We shall have to wait and see how well that plan works out. This week my longest run was 4 miles so as you can see I have a long way to work my way up to 13.1 miles. I will keep you posted on how the training is going.

A Fun Halloween Week So Far
We have ahad a fun week so far. When Josiah was at the pumpkin patch with his kindergarten class a couple weeks ago, he picked a little pumpkin that didn't make it. He chose one that was already half decayed, so I got him a new one since he was very sad about it. He convinced Greg to help him carve it. I don't know how he convinced him since Greg doesn't like jack o lanterns. I guess a he really is a softie. Anyway, Josiah got to stay up late one night this week and they had a fun time carving and playing in the goo. Naomi has a had a fun week too. One of the workers in the toddler room at the YMCA threw the little kids a party today. I wasn't planning on working out today and when I told Ms. Pam that we wouldn't be at the party she was very sad. She told me to please bring Naomi because she really wanted her to be there. So, this morning we went to the Y. Naomi was dressed up as Tinkerbell and got many compliments on how cute she looked. Of
course she was not cooperating on having her picture taken this morning so I only have one really bad one. While Naomi enjoyed her party I sat in the lobby doing some budget balancing and Bible study. I felt guilty that I wasn't working out, but got some needed work done. When Naomi's party was done I picked her up. She had so much fun. She even got a goodie bag to bring home. We love Ms. Pam. Tomorrow some of our friends from WI will be in town. They will be coming over for dinner and then we will head out the door to go trick or treating. Josiah is so excited to be doing this for the first time ever. Can't wait to see Chris and Terri. Will post pictures of trick or treating later.

Proud of our Yellow Belt
Back in August Josiah started Tae Kwon Do at All about Kids. He has been so excited about learning his moves and doing well in class. We love his instructor Mrs Master Twyman. Last weekend he tested for his yellow belt and did very well. He is especially excited now because yellow belts get to spar. I have a video, but the sound wasn't working so here are some pictures instead.Tuesday, October 20, 2009
It's Been a While
It's been a while since I posted last. We have been so very busy the last few months that we have hardly been able to just sit and breathe.A few weeks ago we took a little family trip to Cincinnati to go see the Newport Aquarium. The kids loved it. Naomi was so fascinated by all the fish and ran around with her mouth open looking at them. Josiah had a ton of questions about them and enjoyed touching the sharks. After spending the day at the aquarium we went to visit some of our good friends who live in Cinci. Aunt Jan and Uncle Mark are always fun to visit. Josiah and Michael picked up right from where they had left off last time we saw them.

We went out to dinner at a yummy Mexican restaurant and then spent the night on air mattresses and the couch in their basement. Thanks Aunt Jan and Uncle Mark for the fun time. In the morning we had donuts and cinnamon rolls for breakfast. To see pictures of the kids at Aunt Jan and Uncle Mark's house you can go to Wammy's blog.
