Please Continue To Pray For Anna.

Anna, a very sweet 6 year old little girl, has been in the PICU at Kosair Children's Hospital for about 10 weeks now. Her and her family have been through so very much. Please continue to keep them in your prayers. Here is an update from Amy (her Mother).

"We had a care conference with Anna's doctors today. The prognosis is not very good. All areas of her brain have been damaged because of the infection. They think that she may never "wake up". It is almost as if she is in a coma, but the Neurologist says she is not aware of anything around her like some people are in a coma. We do have faith that God is in control and He does work everything for His good and glory so please pray that we can continue to glorify Him through this. It is a very difficult time for me and Todd. We just want what is best for Anna and our family. It is very hard to see her sweet little body and know that she is not there anymore. I know that God can heal her and we still have hope, but we also have to prepare ourselves for the future.Please pray that we have wisdom and discernment for the choices that are ahead of us. You all have been so faithful in praying for us and we are so grateful for you!"

Slow Learning

Naomi has been doing survival swimming for the lat 3 weeks. She goes every week day for 10 minutes. She started off really well, but seems to be having some difficulty in the last week or so. She still has 3 weeks of lessons to go, so I am confident that by that time she will be swimming like a pro. Here are a couple short clips of today's lesson.

How Does She Do It?

We as parents really should not ask that question, because we might just find out the answer! Naomi still uses a pacifier when she sleeps. She knows the rules about only being able to have the pacifier when she is in bed. She has been figuring out over the last few days how exactly she can get around this rule. A few times she has climbed up into my bed and then closed her eyes while asking for her pacifier. Then 3 days ago, after I put the pacifier up out of her reach (on her chest of drawers), in she comes with the thing in her mouth and a huge grin on her face. She gave me this look like, "So, now what are you going to do about it?" I took the pacifier away and put it back on the drawers. The next morning the same thing and then the folllowing morning the same thing again. Last night I told Greg about it and he had suggested she had taken the step stool in there to get it. This would be logical since she does that for other things. I had checked and no step stool. So, today I walk into her room and this is what I find:

Happy Easter

Yesterday we had several families from our Adult Bible Fellowship group from church come over for Easter lunch. We had a cook out with lots of yummy sides and desserts. After lunch we sent the kids and the Dads the front yard while all the Moms hide 202 filled eggs in our back yard. The kids were so excited to hunt for their 11 eggs. We had big kids and little kids and a ton of fun was had by all. When we opened the gate the kids took a mad dash into the yard to look for eggs. They were in such a hurry they missed many eggs right by the gate. Greg said since Naomi was a little slower than most she made a killing right at the gate.
Today we went to church to celebrate our saviours Resurrection. We had a wonderful service of worship, preaching and fellowship. After church we went to lunch with Greg's parents and sister. they came over to our house after and we just lay around enjoying the company.

3 Days and Swimming

Today was Noami's 3rd day of survival swim lessons (ISR). She has already learned that the side of the pool is her friend and safe place. She has learned to close her mouth and keep her eyes open under water and today she even swam a short distance by herself. I continue to be amazed at this teaching technique. After just 3 days to have my almost 2 year old swimming by herself is amazing. It is worth all the crying and not wanting to get in the pool.

A few nights ago I went shopping by myself while Greg took care of the kids. He always does a good job of engaging them in fun activities. While I was gone the Greg got out the finger paint and let the kids have fun with their hands.
